    Media Specialist

    Job Description:

    The Media Specialist coordinates teacher’s requests for kit reservations and provides delivery/pick-up directly to the schools.

    NUES partners with Utah Museum’s outreach programs and the Utah STEM Action Center to provide educational kits for teachers to use in their classrooms. 

    The Media Specialist works cooperatively with the media staff in the schools.  The NUES Sora Digital Library is available for students and educators to borrow eBooks and Audiobooks and contains over 20,000 titles focused on the interests of elementary, middle and high school students.  The Media Specialist manages the Overdrive Sora account and collaborates with school librarians to purchase titles, create collections, and promote student reading.

    Educational Background:
    • BS Travel and Tourism, BYU with minors in History and Spanish
    Occupational/Industry Experience:
    • NUES Media Specialist since 2013
    • Substitute Teacher, ELL Aide and Teacher’s Aide Wasatch School District 2007-13.
    Professional Organizations:
    • Utah School Library Association 
    • American Association of School Librarians / American Library Association
    Miscellaneous Information:
    • Wasatch Back Irish Dance: permanent volunteer
    • Science and History Podcast & Audiobook aficionado
    • Current  pets: Axolotls, Leopard Gecko, Hissers, ShihTzu, just-a-Cat, and a Blue death feigning beetle on loan to my daughter, Ms. Roberts, 4th grade classroom.
